Traveling and Wedding

Chris' first cousin Jimmy Jr got married on June 15th in Tulsa, OK and we attended with both boys. We got up early on Weds morning and drove to Gboro. Carter heard us downstairs and woke up SO excited about our trip. We made it to the airport and met up with Susan and Roy. We made it through security and the first flight without much incident. Camden was awake but he behaved. Carter sat beside me and Cam in my lap. Chris couldn't hold Cam because he was across the aisle and they didn't have enough oxygen masks for 3 on that side.

In ATL we had some time to kill so we found a Chilis and rode the tram to get to the concourse. Carter really liked that part!

We had lunch and I nursed Cam and Catherine/Seamus met us there and lunched with us as well.

Our flight from ATL to Tulsa was great. Cam slept through the whole thing. We got our bags and picked up our car…a Venza? And it came with carseats although we had to install them.

We stayed at the Hampton and it was a nice place. We had a king bed, pullout couch bed for Carter and they provided a pack n play for Cam.

That night we went to Los Cabos Mexican restaurant to celebrate Gaither's 65th birthday. Cam was pretty tired but we made it through the meal and Carter had fun playing with Everleigh and Elizabeth.

I put Cam to bed and the Crowell girls and Cath and I went to a lingerie shower for Afton. She got some great stuff and we enjoyed meeting the bridesmaids.

Thursday we got up and I got ready and went to the bridesmaid luncheon complete with my monogrammed hat! Elizabeth ordered hats for everyone to wear since it was a Derby theme somewhat.

The lunch went great and Afton teared up at her custom charm bracelet all "Shaw" brides receive. I read aloud the poem Jimmy wrote for Afton and we helped clean up.

While I was getting ready and at lunch Chris had boys at the pool and then lunch with the guys.

Thursday afternoon we took naps and then went to the rehearsal at the church and also the rehearsal dinner. Carter cooperated at the rehearsal and walked down the aisle with Everleigh holding up a sign saying "Here Comes the Bride"

Friday we went to Sand Springs to see my cousins, Wayne, Susie and Elizabeth. Carter enjoyed the visit and loved the golf cart ride! They have a dog that loves to run circles in front of the cart and occasionally bite the wheels!

We got back to the hotel (Carter referred to it as either the "sho-tel" or our new home) and naps were had by all. We got ready and got Carter to the church an hour before show time for pictures. He behaved and made it through the wedding.

The reception was great, they even had a kid table with coloring books and lots of yummy desserts like the beautiful cake, ice cream sundaes and root beer/coke floats.

Carter danced the night away and Cam hung in there.

Sat morning our flight left at 10 am and both boys did great on the flights. The flight from ATL to Gboro was the best because all four of us finally got to sit together.

We were all very glad to be home and back in our own beds! Special thanks to Kathy for watching our animals while we were away! All looked in good health and the chicks sure had grown!
